The Romance of China van Jakarta (雅加达唐人街神奇的故事)
Petak Sembilan in Glodok area, or known as the Chinatown of Jakarta is part of the national heritage of Kota Tua (Jakarta old town). It becomes an important landmark for Chinese descents in Jakarta, as it is part of Indonesian beautiful yet painful history. I, myself was born of Chinese descent.
During the era of the Dutch East Indies, the Chinese took part in the fight for Indonesian independence. Petak Sembilan and its surroundings were the centres of Chinese descendants activities at that time.
